Dulles Engineering is a SWaM, SBE, DBE, and MBE certified firm founded in 2017, providing special inspections, materials testing, and geotechnical engineering services across DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Since our inception, we have built a strong reputation for quality and reliability on both public and private sector developments.
Our expertise spans transportation infrastructure, commercial development, and residential construction. We have supported numerous Department of Transportation projects across Virginia, DC, and Maryland, contributing to landmark infrastructure throughout the region.

What Sets Us Apart
Our in-house, accredited materials testing laboratory — accredited by AASHTO, CCRL, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Operating our own lab allows us to deliver accurate results on faster timelines than firms that rely on outside testing, keeping your project on schedule.
Our technicians and inspectors hold certifications from ACI, VDOT, DEQ, WACEL, and USACE, and our team is led by professional engineers with decades of experience on the region's most demanding infrastructure projects. Ali Dar, P.E.
Ali Dar is the President and founder of Dulles Engineering, bringing 35 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, and geotechnical engineering on some of the region's most significant infrastructure. Ali Dar is the President and founder of Dulles Engineering, bringing 35 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, and geotechnical engineering on some of the region's most significant infrastructure. A Registered Professional Engineer, he specializes in rail, roadway, bridge, and parking structures, as well as commercial and residential development.
Before founding Dulles Engineering, Mr. Dar served as Project Quality Control Manager with Bechtel Corporation on the extension of the Washington Metro (Silver Line, Phase I) to Dulles Airport, and as Special Inspections Engineer of Record for the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project (Phase II), from Wiehle Avenue to Washington Dulles International Airport.
Over his career, he has managed QA/QC programs for clients including DC Water, the Richmond Airport Commission, Montgomery County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and VDOT.
